ABSCIS ARCHITECTEN has a broad experience in various architectural assignments such as residential projects and offices, school and university buildings, rest and nursing homes, newly built as well as refurbished.
This consciously chosen diversity results in new challenges with every project, for the more experienced employees as well as for the younger workers who strengthen and inspire the team.
Our designs always originate in dialogue with the client, through competitions or an interactive study process. The needs and wishes of the client are translated into unique and recognizable realizations, in which research is carried out into innovative design, contemporary use of materials and refined detailing. We also consistently place our assignments in a wider spatial and social context, where economical and ecological aspects are not neglected. The striving for a combination of and a balance between these elements makes our designs socially relevant and accepted. In that way, the public and private buildings and spaces that we design obtain their own role and significance in the social-cultural web of both the constructed and the landscape environment.

Through all our projects we try to respond, in a contemporary way, to the spatial needs of today. Therefore we start from an investigation into current themes that carry the greatest concern within our global design vision: sustainable building, efficient use of materials, energy and space, research and implementation of new technologies, quality of public space and care for the historical patrimony, health and safety of the users, etc. In every project we adopt, complement and examine these aspects through close communication with the client. All aspects are verified on previous experiences from ourselves as well as from others, home and abroad. They are the basis of every concept, every sketch or proposal we discuss with our clients.
