During his studies in photography at the Antwerp Polytechnic College (Karel de Grote Hogeschool) for industrial science and technology (which he concluded with highest honor) Toon Grobet started specializing in location- and more specific architectural photography.
He perfected his skills while working as an assistant for the dutch architecture photographer Sybolt Voeten.
In 1993 Toon Grobet started his own business, based in the city of Antwerp.
The business steadily grew and was one of the pioneers in digital imaging.
Since the beginning, the main assignments consisted of on site photography of: buildings, interior design, architectural models, construction sites, industrial installations, products and art.
This for clients such as : architects , interior designers, development and building companies, museums, artists, magazines, publishers, banks, supply companies for the building industry, government and secondary industries.
Toon Grobet is regularly invited at universities, photography schools and national and international conferences all over Europe, to lecture about his work and vision as an architecture photographer and about several aspects of digital photography.
This gives him the opportunity to closely follow the latest trends in contemporary photography and to maintain contacts with leading photographers and schools throughout Europe.
In 2002 his work as architectural photographer was awarded with the prestigious QEP-label.
In 2005 he received the highest European distinction for Professional Photographers : Master QEP. Up till now only13 photographers received this award.
He also won several international prizes.
In 2007 the business model was slightly changed and Lumecore was created.
Lumecore constantly invests in all areas of digital workflow to meet an excelling standard of imaging.
Lumecore also constantly evaluates the artistic level and visual impact of its creations to find the best synergy with the marketing needs of it’s customers.
