Since 1998, we have worked as an interdisciplinary team of architects, planners and specialists with a wide range of professional backgrounds. What unites us is a shared commitment to quality, responsibility and collaboration. Our diversity, including different nationalities, languages and perspectives, is a clear asset. It broadens our view, sharpens the debate and leads to solutions that are functional, design-led and culturally relevant. In close collaboration with clients and project partners, we develop projects shaped by dialogue, planned with precision and delivered with conviction.

Karlheinz Boiger

Architect, Partner and CEO of Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH
Show Biography

Arch.-DI Karlheinz Boiger (born 1979 in Graz) is an architect, partner and CEO of Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH. He studied architecture at Graz University of Technology and at the Technical University of Berlin.

He has been with Hohensinn Architektur since 1999. Today, alongside managing the practice and steering its strategic development, he is responsible for design, timber construction and sustainable systems.

In 2015, together with six colleagues, he co-founded the interdisciplinary think tank breathe.earth.collective. Since 2019, he has served on the board of the Styrian branch of the Austrian Chamber of Architects and Consulting Engineers (ZV). His approach brings together architecture, climate culture and interdisciplinary thinking.

Annette Strasser

Partner at Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH

DI Annette Strasser (born 1977 in Vienna) is a partner at Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH. She studied at the Vienna University of Technology and at Graz University of Technology.
As part of the management team, she works within an interdisciplinary environment that combines sustainable, contemporary architecture with a high level of planning rigour. In day-to-day project work, she is engaged across a broad range of areas. These include controlling, competition submissions and HR matters, as well as fee proposals and the strategic development of the practice.

Josef Hohensinn

Architect, Partner and Founder of Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH

Arch.-DI Josef Hohensinn (born 1956 in Upper Austria) is an architect and founder of Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH. After completing secondary technical college (HTL) in Linz, he studied building construction at Graz University of Technology and worked independently while still a student.

From 1990 to 1995, he was a university assistant to Prof. Franz Riepl at Graz University of Technology. In 1995, he established his own architectural practice, followed by a partnership with Prof. Hubert Riess in 1996 and 1997. Since 1998, Hohensinn Architektur has been based in Graz.

Josef Hohensinn’s focus is on architecture that is both enduringly functional and aesthetically refined, bringing together users’ needs, building culture and deliverability.

Athena Welter

Marketing and Communications at Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH

Athena Welter (born 1966 in Hamburg) is responsible for Marketing and Communications at Hohensinn Architektur ZT GmbH. She studied Graphic Design at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and completed a Master’s degree in Content Strategy at FH JOANNEUM Graz.

Her work spans marketing, content strategy, and internal and external communications, with a focus on strengthening the brand profile and ensuring clarity and consistency across all touchpoints.

Her approach combines strategic marketing with a strong emphasis on relevance over volume, and on building resilient, collaborative teams that can deliver high-quality communication sustainably.
