A jet-black space that scoops up the slightest light
In the past, there was darkness in private homes. Darkness has long since disappeared from modern dwellings, but since ancient times, people have lived in awe of the darkness and with it. Modern people have eliminated all the darkness and obtained bright, light-filled dwellings, but at the same time, they have lost the serene space surrounded by silence. It is time to bring back the silence to our homes.

“Kikko An” is a house wrapped in jet-black darkness that expresses the strong individuality of the owner. The light from the outside is suppressed to the point of asceticism, and everything from the finishes to the accessories is unified in black. The view seen through the small windows opened in the darkness gives a strong and vivid impression, and makes one keenly aware of the changing of the four seasons.
