This master planning exercise was undertaken for a resorts company based out of Kolkata, India.The resort was to integrate residential, recreational, commercial, conference and performance facilities on a narrow waterfront site at the edge of one of the city’s wetlands next to a popular amusement park.

The focus of the master plan was to provide the people of Kolkata with socially charged spaces for a wide range of uses and activities, thus allowing the site to be active and welcoming throughout day and night. As a proposed cultural centre in an area of Kolkata fast developing as an IT and institutional hub, the project sought to redefine the typology of mixed development by fusing cultural and commercial activities.
