Montalba Architects, Inc.’s interior architecture and planning for LAX’s Great Hall and Duty Free Shops (DFS) create luxurious environments for high-end travelers. Bathed in natural light, the Great Hall is a welcoming open space, providing sweeping views from virtually every vantage point. The Great Hall’s transparent flowing circulation leads seamlessly through zones on multiple levels containing luxury shopping, dining establishments, and lounges. DFS features a unified series of elegant storefront façades appropriate for world-class luxury brands along two sides of the Great Hall. Montalba Architects’ interior at LAX has remade the decades-old concept of an airport terminal with sophisticated balance—blending high design with efficiency, and international style with local color.
